Staff Accountant (Part-time OR Full-time)

The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.
Salary: $26-$34 per hour
Schedule: M-F (flexible shifts)
Type: Full-time or Part-time (minimum 20 hours)

  • Process weekly payroll/commissions for employees and external sales representatives.
  • Performs general accounting and other related duties for the organization.  Maintains the general ledger.
  • Employee time sheet set up and tracking.
  • Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
  • Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
  • Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections.
  • Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
  • Files required sales tax reports and assist with federal, state, and local government agencies reporting requirements.
  • Develop and document accounting processes and policies to maintain and strengthen the department.
  • Assist with Cash Flow Reporting, KPI reporting and Budget preparations.
  • Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field REQUIRED (CPA, MBA preferred but not required)
  • 3+ Years of Accounting Experience.
  • Intermediate/Advanced Experience with QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel and CRMs.
  • Proficient with Google Workspace.
  • Knowledge of general financial accounting.
  • Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Strong attention to detail, while being able to prioritize and multitask effectively.
  • Excellent judgment, discretion and ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate ideas effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Effectively work as a team member and independently as required.
  • Construction and Renewable Energy experience is a plus.
