The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.
Schedule: M-F (flexible shifts)

Process weekly payroll/commissions for employees and external sales representatives.

Performs general accounting and other related duties for the organization. Maintains the general ledger.

Employee time sheet set up and tracking.

Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.

Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.

Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections.

Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.

Files required sales tax reports and assist with federal, state, and local government agencies reporting requirements.

Develop and document accounting processes and policies to maintain and strengthen the department.

Assist with Cash Flow Reporting, KPI reporting and Budget preparations.

Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field REQUIRED (CPA, MBA preferred but not required)

3+ Years of Accounting Experience.

Intermediate/Advanced Experience with QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel and CRMs.

Proficient with Google Workspace.

Knowledge of general financial accounting.

Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.

Strong attention to detail, while being able to prioritize and multitask effectively.

Excellent judgment, discretion and ability to maintain confidential information.

Excellent problem solving, analytical and organizational skills.

Ability to communicate ideas effectively both orally and in writing.

Effectively work as a team member and independently as required.

Construction and Renewable Energy experience is a plus.
