The Solar Project Designer is responsible for configuring all system components and supporting the creation of proposals, array layouts, site plans, and diagrams, as required for building out proposals. Ideally looking for someone with experience with the solar industry, design software, and/or strong technical skills.

Compensation: $18.00 to $25.00/hr (Based off of experience)

Shift: Monday thru Friday/9:00 am to 5:00 pm (Flexible shifts)

Office Location: 6430 S. Fiddlers Green Circle, Suite 260 Greenwood Village, CO 80111 ***NOT REMOTE***

Position Responsibilities:

• This position is meant to encompass the beginning stages of design including but not limited to specification for racking and mounting components, layout of PV panels, and other design elements.
• Have familiarity of PV code compliance, identify the unique permitting requirements and design criteria of each jurisdiction, and effectively hand off all designs for final approval to the Design Team.
• Review ariels and images from site visits in early phases of the solar sales process to determine system size and specifications, roof structure, BOS and conduit locations, and other design requirements
• Coordinate with utilities, and jurisdictional authorities, as required and have knowledge of common fire set-backs
• Responsible for establishing the prioritization, timeline, and quality control processes for deliverables
• Consider relative product costs and availability to connect system design and customer value

Desired Experience:

• Strong understanding of solar PV system design
• Familiarity with NEC code and building standards
• Knowledge of jurisdictional requirements for solar PV system design
• Ability to read electrical and structural plans
• Ability to communicate effectively within a team, and other install partners
• Ability to solve problems proactively and research effectively as needed
• Proficiency with Google Suite, Satellite & aerial imagery software, (GIS & Scanifly software knowledge a plus)
